DJZigZag IS MIXING A LITTLE SCHMALTZ INTO THE FLOW THIS CHRISTMAS AND HE'S DOIN' IT WITH AN ENSEMBLE CALLED FRED WARING AND THE PENNSYLVANIANS. CHRISTMAS SOUNDS FROM THE EARLY NINETEEN SIXTIES.

SURE.  IT'S A SCHMALTZY BIT OF XMAS MUSIC FROM THE EARLY SIXTIES BUT IT SEGUES INTO R. KELLY AND JIMMY SMITH AND BOYS II MEN REAL NICE!  CAPITOL RECORDS FRED WARING WITH HIS MUSICIANS AND CHOIR KNOWN AS THE PENNSYLVANIANS WERE A TOP-NOTCH POP AGGREGATION BACK IN THE DAY AND AS PROFESSIONAL AS CAN BE.  DJZigZag SEZ HE'D LOVE TO HAVE HAD A CHAIR AT THE BACK OF THE RECORDING BOOTH IN 1963 WHEN THIS ALBUM WAS PRODUCED BY ANDY WISWELL.  DJZZ KNOWS IT WOULD BE A MARVELOUS LEARNING EXPERIENCE BEING A FLY-ON-THE-WALL BACK IN THOSE DAYS.
