WAGRadio FANS KNOW (BY NOW) THAT ONE OF OUR MAIN MAN DJZigZag's FAVOURITE CHOONS FROM THE LATE 1960's IS BOBBIE GENTRY'S GENRE-DEFYING "ODE TO BILLIE JOE". HERE SHE IS IN 1971 ON THE ANDY WILLIAMS SHOW IN A SELDOM SEEN VIDEO OF HER STRETCHING OUT ON THE SONG SHE PENNED AND MADE FAMOUS.

This is a wonderful version of "Ode To Billie Joe" by Ms. Gentry.  She "acts out" the intricate lyrics and vocal interchanges between the song's characters to a degree not seen in other videos.  WAGRadio fan and musicologist Miles Ramsay tells us that that's not a guitar she's playing but a baritone ukelele.  Mr. R. also couldn't help but pass on a bit o' gossip too.  Seems Bobbie G. married the owner of Harrah's casinos and hotels Mr. Bill Harrah.
