YES!
And Sweet Daddy Fonk and I are planning on taking a lot of the lazier less travelled roads (not the main freeways) on this trip.
Also, we see this as the first of three, four or five trips to the Southern U.S. of A. - with this first trip kinda gettin' our feet culturally wet, feelin' out the countryside and getting used to what this place called the South is all about. Not to offend anyone but it's kinda like going to Europe for the first time and thinking that you know the place when you don't. Best to keep your mouth shut, be polite and learn what is accepted and not accepted.
Both S.D.F. Wong and ZZ have a great love of the Southern US so we should be able to convey that to the people we meet - but we must know that they don't have any idea who we are or what we feel in our hearts.
We've been pals for over fifty years and share a love of music with Southern musicians and singers as folk heroes. All in all, like you say, a lifetime experience! One of four, five or more. We are already planning the deeper Louisiana trip for next time!
