WHEN THE EAST END ROCKED AND ROLLED - BO DIDDLEY, LaVERN BAKER, THE FIVE KEYS and WILLIS JACKSON ! !

To be truthful - ya had to go over to the South Side of VanCity to see the Ed Sullivan Show in the early 1950's (this segment was broadcast - January, 28th, 1956). If your family was rich enuff to have a TV - it only received two channels.

Here we see a segment of WWRL New York's Tommy "Dr. Jive" Smalls presenting his "Dr. Jive's Rhythm and Blues Revue" featuring Bo Diddley (no, that ain't a young 'Sweet Daddy Fonk'), LaVern Baker, The Five Keys (who go to Chinatown to get some Egg Foo Yong) and Willis "Gator Tail" Jackson.

Thanks to "Blues In The Dark" Co-Op Radio Host & Producer Ron Simmonds for turning us on to another gem . . .
