Canada's national papers have been waxing poetic about the expected "biggest salmon run in B.C. history."
In 2010, 30 million sockeye flooded into and up the mighty, muddy Fraser River that runs past WAGRadio. This year may see 72,000,000 fish returning [this recent real-early mornin' photo was taken thru the Studio "B" window].
The National Post sez that fish plants four years ago were overwhelmed and "ran out of ice and storage boxes."
DJZigZag has reported to staff members that he and Mrs. ZZ have already purchased six succulent six pounders at $15.00 each - well below the major food retailers asking price. And that's gutted and no head! They're in the freezer now!
The Globe and Mail tells us that, "The fishing is frenzied right now on the Fraser." "Yum, yum in the tum tum", cries Ziggy as he digs into a luscious BBQ slab of sockeye salmon with some lemon on the side. Summer at WAGRadio - aren't we lucky here on the Southern Canadian shores of the Pacific Ocean. "Hey! Turn up that Usher and jump-back with some I-Octane! We livin' the fonky life!!
