BOOKER T. PLAYS A SOLO VERSION OF "GREEN ONIONS" - NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert
WAGRadio must "ONCE AGAIN" thank the host of Vancouver, B.C.'s CO-OP RADIO's "BLUES IN THE DARK" - MR. RON SIMMONDS for hippin' DJZigZag to another great video.
Ron's show is the longest continually running Blues radio show in the Great White North. He lists it as the "2nd longest running Blues show" but the other programme stopped and started while our Ron has kept at it without a break for (what I'm guessin') must now be thirty-plus years. The show runs from 10:00 pm on Monday nites for three hours and if you click on this post's title it will take you to Co-Op Radio's website.

HISTORIC MALACO RECORDS DESTROYED IN JACKSON, MS TORNADO on APRIL, 15, 2011
King Floyd, Dorothy Moore, Johnnie Taylor, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Denise LaSalle, Stan Mosley, ZZ Hill are just some of the names who have recorded for Malaco Records.
So - fo' sho' - this is the record company that has given us some of the finest New World African Southern Soul Music in the last forty-plus years and it all (literally) came crashing down in mid-April of this year when one of the many tornadoes tore through Jackson, Mississippi.

FROM THE WAGRadio VAULTS TO YOU OLDSTERS AND YOUNGun'S - "Ram-Bunk-Shush" by Louis Jordan & The Tympany Five
Interesting to see Chris Columbo as part of the LOUIS JORDAN and THE TYPANNY FIVE aggregation.
LOUIS JORDAN WAS A GOD IN 1940's NEW WORLD AFRICAN MUSIC.
ONE OF THE MOST TALENTED MUSICIANS, SINGERS AND BAND LEADERS IN THE HISTORY OF NEW WORLD AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSIC. THE MAN IS AN INFLUENCE EVEN TODAY (if you know what to listen for - hello, Raphael Saadiq).
