WELL, It looked like it WAS gonna be winter. . . .

NOW when we gaze out the WAGRadio Studio 'B' window we just see wet.

But it doesn't dampen the magic time.

Christmas is upon us and Sunny 'Sweet Daddy Fonk' has found a transcription on a 2001 cassette tape (two actually) from when he and DJZigZag hosted Groovin' Blue on CHMB AM1320.

Every Sunday nite, they would broadcast New World African music to their fans in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

Sitting faithfully at home for those three years the show was on, was Mrs. Sweet Daddy Fonk - Cheryl . . . taping the proceedings.

Aside from tape hiss and a little bit of 'bleeding through' from another radio station, the sound quality is pretty good.

We will soon podcast this Groovin' Blue CHMB 2001 RETRO - RADIO CHRISTMAS Show. SO Stay tuned! !

And . . . we may also call DJZigZag in so he can host a third CHRISTMAS OLDIES show (kinda like a Funk Shui Special) with or without the Sweet one.

DAYS AWAY FROM NEW GROOVIN' BLUE [09-07] & WORKIN' ON FUNK SHUI SPECIAL WITH SWEET DADDY FONK

The soon to be pod-casted GROOVIN' BLUE 09-07 features nu choons by LADEN, MANTIS, TIM BENSON, MC LYTE and BUSY SIGNAL as well as some soul-worn favourites by BOBBY WOMACK, CURTIS MAYFIELD, BRENTON WOOD and THE AFRO-BLUES QUINTET PLUS ONE.

SUNNY 'SWEET DADDY FONK' WONG & DJZZ are also molding a FUNK SHUI 'CRESCENT CITY' SPECIAL which, as the title implies, and as we've already more than hinted at, will embrace the rockin', hand clappin', feelin' good music of NEW ORLEANS.

A RESTLESS WAGRadio SPRING HERALDS A CREATIVE SUMMER

The early morning movement of ships - the ever changing tide - the pushing in and out of trains and planes attest to the spirit of restlessness that filters through the soul at this time every year. We at WAGRadio need to jump into something CREATIVELY NEW and different . . . . .

THE TWO GROOVIN' BLUE XMAS PODCASTS WILL BE JOINED IN THE 2nd WEEK OF JANUARY BY 2 NEW PROGRAMS.

The view from Studio 'B' still looks quite chilly and frightful.
Luckily, most of the WAGRadio programming is produced in the much cozier Studio 'A'.
Look for the last Groovin' Blue show of 2008
PLUS the premiere GB program of 2009 in the first nine days of January.
Among those artists featured in that last-week-of-2008 program will be Elephant Man & Seal plus Lyfe Jennings, Sam Sparro, Shifta feat. Flo Rida, Omarion and from The Comedy Channel's Chocolate News - 'Black Daddy'.
2009's debut show will showcase tunes by Notes To Self feat. Dilated Peoples, B.O.B., Big Caz, Bobby Womack, Rock City and a three tune tribute to recently departed trumpet star Freddie Hubbard.
