The Red Cross responded immediately following the earthquake in Haiti to support search and rescue efforts, transported injured people to medical care, provided first aid, and they continue to work around the clock to provide for basic needs. An international team of Red Cross aid workers are on their way to Haiti, including Canadian Jean Pierre Taschereau, who will be leading the Red Cross assessment team there.
